Also called Bitcoin Cash ABC or BCH. It is A version of Bitcoin started by miners and developers with the purpose of resolving the scalability issues of the original version of Bitcoin. It allows a maximum block size of 8 MBytes as compared to the maximum block size of 1 MByte of the original Bitcoin (BTC). It was created in August 2017 as a hard fork of the original Bitcoin project, with the purpose of increasing transaction speed and accelerate the verification process. It provides for an adjustable level of difficulty which raised concerns about its security.
